Friday 7 September 2012

Tiny Treasures turns 6 months old next Wednesday, the 12th September, and to celebrate that and the fact that my little business has become such a success I'm doing a giveaway.  I'd like to just thank all of my customers and followers on Facebook for their support and custom, without you Tiny Treasures wouldn't be the success it is and for that I am truly thankful to each and every one of you x

The prize will be one of my new "Charmed" necklaces with a small handmade pure silver charm and a Swarovski channel charm in the colour of their choice.  This prize is worth over £25.00 and the winner will be first person to own one of my new necklaces before the new ranges are even launched.

You can choose the shape of the pure silver charm - round (11mm), flower (10mm), heart (10mm) or star (15mm).  The flower, heart or star can be stamped with up to 2 letters OR a design stamp.  The round charms can be stamped with up to 9 letters (Aras font) and either a star, flower or heart design stamp.  Please note that the heart charm in the photograph is a sterling silver one and is larger than the one available in the giveaway.

HOW TO ENTER

All you need to do is email me, with your full name and address, to charmedgiveaway@gmail.com.

Entries will be accepted up until midnight on Wednesday 12th September.

Each entrant will be numbered according to the order in which their email is received.

A number will then be chosen via a Random Number Generator at around 7pm on Thursday 13th September.

The winner will be notified via email.

As the pure silver charms are created entirely by hand you need to allow up to 3 weeks before your prize is ready to be posted.

So, good luck, everyone, and thanks for taking the time to enter! :)

PS  The Tiny Treasures Facebook page is only 222 likers away from 2,000.....if you can all share the page with your friends and get past 2,000 likers by the close of the competition I'll giveaway a 2nd place prize too!  Get sharing! x

Busy, busy, busy!

Morning everyone!

Absolutely mad busy with TT at the minute....could do with someone finding me an extra 10 hours in a day!

I've also got a busy weekend ahead of me as I'm taking part in the Cancer Research Relay for Life on Saturday.  My friend, Michelle, has put the team together and we've both, unfortunately, had experience of cancer in our immediate family.....one of her daughters and my eldest boy.  It should be a great event with a fantastic atmosphere and we hope to raise lots of money for a great cause.

I've mentioned previously about running another competition when Tiny Treasures turns the ripe old age of 6 months on September 12th.  I was hoping to have reached 1,000 likers on my TT Facebook page by that date and I'm pleased to say that my likes on the page currently stands at an astounding 1,596!  So, the competition will definitely be going ahead and the prize will be a very special one......

The winner will receive one of my new charm necklaces with a small pure silver charm (stamped with up to 2 initials or a flower/heart/star) and a Swarovski channel charm in the colour of their choice.  This prize is worth over £25.00 and the winner will be first person to own one of my new necklaces before the new ranges are even launched.

I'll have more details about the competition nearer the time.

New bracelet range to be launched soon!

Many of my designs are intended to be worn as necklaces so I've been thinking of what I can offer in the line of bracelets.  I've made up a couple of samples and I posted photos of them to my Facebook page to gauge interest and get some feedback from my followers and customers. So far, feedback has been great so I'm working on some more designs which will be featured in the new range.

The first one is a double strand leather cord bracelet with a sterling silver heart charm which can be personalised with initials, a date or short text.  The cord is 0.5mm thick so the bracelet is delicate and light to wear.  You also have the option of adding other charms.

The second one is a single strand waxed cotton cord bracelet with a stainless steel washer which can be personalised with up around 8 letters either side of the rings that attach it to the cord.  Again this is a lovely light bracelet which is very comfortable to wear.

The bracelets are fully adjustable with the clever sliding knots.

I've been "test driving" these bracelets for a couple of days but I'm giving one of you the chance to be the first to own one of my new waxed cotton cord bracelets with a personalised stainless steel washer, before the range is even launched, for just £7.00 (includes P&P).  Please note that the cord is only available in purple at present and the stamped text is limited to around 8 letters either side of the rings.

If you are interested please email me at tinytreasureskeepsakes@gmail.com before 11pm tonight (Thursday 16th August) stating the text you'd like to be stamped onto the washer.  You have to be able to pay via Paypal and payment, which is £7.00 including P&P,  must be made before midday on Sunday 19th August.  I won't take any further email applications after 11pm tonight.  A person will be chosen at random to receive one of the bracelets at the special one-off price (price will be around £13.00 plus P&P when the range is launched).

*The bracelet is only available in purple at present and text is limited to up to 8 letters either side of the rings*

Edit.....PLEASE NOTE I CAN ALSO DO THE BRACELET IN A DOUBLE STRAND AQUA WAXED COTTON CORD BRACELET RATHER THAN PURPLE IF YOU PREFER.

1,000 likers reached......and passed!

So, following on from my last post about hoping to reach 1,000 likers on my Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/TinyTreasuresKeepsakes) I actually reached that magic number on August 6th.....and the number of likes on the page now currently stands at 1,348!  I'm absolutely staggered!  I'll be announcing a new competition to celebrate this and Tiny Treasures 6 month birthday on September 16th.

I completed a new customer order yesterday and it's the first piece to feature my signature "tt" heart tag.  I thought it would be nice to have something on my more expensive sterling silver designs to show that they were lovingly made by me :)  It's now winging it's way to it's new owner, Sam, so I hope she'll be happy with it.

Another milestone reached for Tiny Treasures!

Well, I reached another milestone on my Tiny Treasures Facebook page the other day.....900 likers reached!  And, believe it or not, the page is heading steadily towards the big 1,000 already as the current number of likers on the page is 966.

As some of you know, the powers that be at FB don't like us to do competitions and giveaways so I thought I'd make a little announcement here on my Blog.  Tiny Treasures will be 6 months old on the 12th September (which also happens to be my youngest boy's 13th birthday) so if I can reach the magic number of 1,000 likers before that date I'll be doing another giveaway!

I'll announce more details very soon but if you have friends on FB who you think would love Tiny Treasures please do invite them to take a look and like the page.  You can find a "Suggest To Friends" tab just under the main cover photo of the page.

I'm truly amazed and so, so grateful to all of my likers and wonderful customers for making TT the success it is in such a short space time.  Thanks, guys! :)

Competition time!

So, the other day I stamped a stainless steel heart washer with the name and date of birth of my eldest boy, Dale, and following on from that I received a request from my friend Dee who wanted one with the names of her 3 children and Swarovski crystals to represent their birth months.  Here's the pendant I stamped for her.....

Boy, was I unprepared for the amount of requests and comments I received about the pendant!  I was absolutely inundated with orders and enquiries, to the extent that I've had to start compiling a waiting list whilst I wait on new supplies arriving!  I currently have 30 requests for similar pendants so I'm going to be a busy bee over the next couple of weeks!

Anyway, I've been so happy with the feedback I've received and the way Tiny Treasures has taken off I've decided to do a competition and the lucky winner will win one of my heart washer pendants.  Due to Facebook rules and regs I'm unable to run the competition on my page so I'm doing it here on my blog.

**COMPETITION!**

All you need to do is take a look on my Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/TinyTreasuresKeepsakes, go to the photographs and find out what colour beads are used on one of my Christmas decorations (the "2012 - OUR 1ST CHRISTMAS AS MR & MRS" decoration).  Once you know the colours used on that particular sample decoration all you have to do is email me the answer to tinytreasureskeepsakes@gmail.com.

It's simple!

The competition closes on Friday 13th (sorry!) of July 2012 at 7pm so you have plenty of time to enter.  The winner will be chosen at random and I'll announce who it is on my page at around 8pm that night and I'll also contact the winner by email to let them know the good news.  Don't worry if you're already on the waiting list for a pendant and have paid.....I'll happily refund your payment.

Good luck, everyone, and thanks for taking the time to enter!

*NEW* Silver Treasures range

Morning everyone

We have a glorious morning here on the beautiful Isle of Man....a bit breezy but the sun definitely has his hat on!

I've recently launched a brand new range to Tiny Treasures.....Silver Treasures is a range of hand stamped sterling silver keepsake jewellery.  From silver discs to silver butterflies, if it's blank I can stamp it!  The silver items can be stamped with names, dates, short messages, little designs such as stars, flowers and hearts and they make wonderful keepsake gifts for new mums, brides to be etc or you can have one just as a little memento of your family.

I started practicing the stamping in December last year and after lots of practice (and wasted metal!) I finally felt confident enough to offer the new Silver Treasures range in March of this year.  Wow, has the new range been popular so far!  I've just completed my 12th customer order and have, at present, another 5 orders on my books waiting to be done.  I'm overwhelmed with the response the new range has brought.

Let me explain a little about what is involved with hand stamping.  The process itself is relatively simple.....take a silver item such as a disc, take your metal letter/design stamps and hit them with a hammer to leave the letters/designs imprinted onto the silver.  The difficult part is getting the spacing and lining up of the letters as near to perfect as you can.  As it's all done by hand you will never achieve perfection but this shouldn't be seen as a flaw or downside, it adds character and only serves to make your keepsake item even more unique and personal to you.

This is a recent pendant I was asked to do for a customer.....

The keepsake market is booming business and I've recently joined The Guild of Keepsake Artists.  This is a fabulous place for both keepsake creators and customers alike.  You can find them on Facebook....https://www.facebook.com/KeepsakeArtists.  There are so many talented people who are members of the Guild and you'll find allsorts of fabulous products from jewellery to cushions!  If you don't have Facebook you can take a look at the website....http://www.guild-keepsakeartists.com/

I'm in the process of updating the Tiny Treasures website to make more of a feature of the new Silver Treasures range but you can also follow me on Twitter, @tiny_treasures_ , or like me on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/TinyTreasuresKeepsakes.

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Tiny Treasures is born.

Hello everyone and welcome to the brand new Tiny Treasures blog.

The keepsakes market is absolutely thriving especially with companies offering pure silver keepsakes such as finger print charms etc.  Working with silver clay is a road I've gone down in the past but to be honest I didn't enjoy it too much and with the cost of silver rocketing it was expensive for both myself and my customers.  I really wanted to find a way of offering a similar product but for much less cost to the customer and that is when Tiny Treasures was born.  I take doodles, artwork, handwritten messages, baby scan pics, photos and finger/hand/foot prints and transform them into wearable and useable keepsake items such as charms, pendants, cufflinks and keyrings.  The added bonus of creating keepsakes this way is that you can keep the wonderful colours from doodles etc.

I'm still in the process of setting up the new Tiny Treasures website but in the meantime you can view and order items via my Facebook page....https://www.facebook.com/TinyTreasuresKeepsakes.  The website address will be http://www.tinytreasures.webeden.co.uk.  Please do call back again in a couple of days as the website should be fully up and running by then.

Thanks for visiting and reading.
